First strike eagles and trading w/ dealer
So I've now got some of these first strike eagles that are in NGC sealed wafers.
The cases make them take up much more room. For example a stack of 20 takes up the same space 120 would if they were in roll form. I was thinking of going to my local dealer and trading with him for rolls. Before I go and say "can you swap me one for one", are the waferized "first strike" NGC coins "worth" any more than any regular uncirculated american eagle to a dealer? |
Re: First strike eagles and trading w/ dealer
I believe so everytime I see first strike listed they always go for more!

Re: First strike eagles and trading w/ dealer
I know little about coin collecting, but I do know that 96 eagles are worth 3-4 times more than the others to some collectors.

Re: First strike eagles and trading w/ dealer
the ones you have are worth twice the ones in a roll
your kidding. |
Re: First strike eagles and trading w/ dealer
So should I say can I trade you one of these first strikes for 2 of your average joe ones?
I'm not sure what a good trade would be since all I want them for is the bullion. |

As many of these coins that everybody has for sale, "first strike" Eagles must include all the coins that are struck in the first half of every year.

I looked at others I have with a 2006 date that weren't "first strike" and you can easily see a difference in the coins. There is much more detail on the first strike and the shading seems better. If what I have is worth more I'm guessing it's a 4 of his for 3 of mine sort of trade |

in the long run the coins in the tubes will be worth more to you that those in the slabs. worth more in terms of saved storage space until they go into the melting pot and also considering the additional handling fee you will be charged because of the plastic slab containers when they melt. |
